Graduation Thoughts by a SMIT Faculty Member

I would like to share an editorial, entitled Thoughts on A Graduation, written by a SMIT-HRM faculty member, Mr. Schubert Ceasar Austero, about the DLS-CSB graduation ceremony held last Saturday.

Mr. Austero handles Organizational Behavior and writes a regular column in the Manila Standard.

Good point Mr. Austero, thanks for sharing it Mr. Tang. I bumped into Yar inside the campus last Friday afternoon. He was so apologetic about the slightly emotional speech. I told him not to worry about it for he delivered it with so much sincerity and pride as a Burmese who is so proud of his Filipino/Bineldean education.

Honestly, that was the impact that I really wanted to create when I chose and recommended Yar to deliver the valedictory speech. Coming from a foreigner's point of view, I want the Filipino audience to realize the whole meaning of education in the context of every Filipino's life. Mr. Austero elaborated on this already in his column and I strongly agree with him.

More power to you Yar for inspiring us and to Mr. Austero, may your kind abound!
